How RugAlert Works

A simple 3-step process to protect the NFT community

Step 1: Submit a Project

You can submit projects in two ways:

Report Suspicious Project

If you encounter a suspicious NFT project, submit a detailed report with:

  • Project name and blockchain
  • Contract address
  • Description of suspicious behavior
  • Screenshots or evidence
  • Social media handles
  • Suspicious transaction hashes

Submit Legitimate Project

If you want to highlight a legitimate project, submit it with:

  • Project name and blockchain
  • Contract address
  • Description of the project
  • Website and social media links
  • Key features and utility
  • Team information (if available)

Tip: The more detailed your submission, the more helpful it will be for other community members to make informed decisions. Always provide evidence to support your submission.

Step 2: Community Review

Once a project is submitted (whether suspicious or legitimate), the community can review and vote on it:

Rug Vote
Project appears to be a scam
Legit Vote
Project appears legitimate

Note: Each wallet can only vote once per report. This ensures fair and unbiased community input.

Step 3: Community Consensus

The voting results help the community understand the project's legitimacy. Whether it was submitted as suspicious or legitimate, the community votes determine the final assessment:

High Rug Votes
Proceed with extreme caution
High Legit Votes
Project appears trustworthy
Mixed Votes
Do your own research

Remember: RugAlert is a tool to help inform your decisions, but always do your own research before investing in any project.

Best Practices

When Submitting

  • Provide clear, factual information
  • Include screenshots or evidence
  • Be specific about suspicious behavior (for reports) or project features (for legitimate submissions)
  • Avoid personal attacks or speculation
  • Only submit projects you've researched
  • Choose the correct submission type (suspicious report or legitimate project)

When Voting

  • Read the full report before voting
  • Consider the evidence provided
  • Vote based on facts, not emotions
  • Don't vote if you're unsure
  • Respect other community members
